Overview –

Connolly Contractors, founded by Martin Connolly in 2015, specialise in drain laying services for both residential and commercial clients. In 2022, Dave Ingoe joined as the Operations Manager, further strengthening the team.

Since its inception, the company has experienced significant growth, now a team of 19 dedicated staff members. With a focus on excellence, Connolly's reputation precedes them, with five comprehensive drainage crews renowned for their expertise, professionalism, and commitment to delivering top-tier results.

They work with a range of clients including Dempsey, Downers, M arch Cato, JW Neil and well as many smaller developers. They cover a range of aspects from project management and planning to site preparation, excavation and installation of infrastructure.

Their service area primarily spansfrom Wellsford to the Bombay's, but “will travel for the right job.”

Who drive the team -

Martin – Highly skilled and experienced certified drainlayer. He began his career by working for his father's company for many years, gaining valuable experience and knowledge in the field of drain laying. In 2015, Martin took the dive and started, Connolly Contractors, with a vision to provide top-quality service. With his determination and hard work, he has grown the company from a one-man operation to a reputable business in a relatively short span of time. Martin has made significant contributions to the Auckland industry including the Lincoln Road Motorway Upgrade, Piritahi sites, and Transmission Sewer connections. He continuously stays updated with the latest industry trends and techniques and applies his expertise to deliver efficient and effective solutions for his clients. His commitment to excellence and attention to detail have earned him a reputation as a highly capable and trusted professional in the industry.

David – A certified drainlayer he began his career with Fulton Hogan, having worked in Australia and for Heb before moving to Connolly’s. David has work on significant Auckland infrastructure including the Lincoln Road Motorway Upgrade, Te Atatu Motorway Albany Highway, Glenfield Road Upgrade, and Pukekohe Trunk Sewer, showcasing his versatility and expertise in managing complex construction projects. He played a key role in the construction of Kopupaka Playground, which won the prestigious NZ Playground of the Year award in 2021. This highlights David's exceptional project management skills and commitment to delivering high-quality results. In 2022, David took on the role of Operations Manager, further demonstrating his leadership capabilities and industry expertise.

Safety – Connolly’s have a rigorous safety system. They system isapp based so the team can use in real time onsite for checklists and reporting.They take pride in the importance of safety that resonates throughout the team.They are gold accredited with Site Safe and have Impact accreditation.

Employee development - Connolly’s believe in investing in theirteam, professional development and the well-being. Providing training, mentorship,and opportunities to grow. They are keen to have not only a skilled workforcebut a motivated workforce.

Environments responsibility – Minimising environmental impact is important for Connolly’s. They follow environmental regulations, use eco-friendly materials and practices and promote sustainability on all sites they are working with.

Recent key projects –

Waikowhai Development – Connolly’s completed the transmission sewer on the Waikowhai Development with March Cato. A successful project with the team using their expertise in laying a 450mm diameter infra-pipeand complete manholes.

Fisher and Paykel, East Tamaki – Connolly’s have been completing thecivil drainage package for McKenzie and Palmer at the new Fisher and Paykel building inEast Tamaki. Starting in September 2023 and nearing completion they are veryhappy with the outcome. Significantly of the 4 meter diameter manhole theyinstalled (pictured). This was placed with a 100tonne crane, the steel wasinstalled after, and the base was poured.
